John Phelps Honored as an “Inspiring Voice” on May 10th at CLIA’S ‪#‎InspiringVoices2016‬ Event

Jul. 7, 2016

John Phelps (President) took Tyrone F. from Community Law in Action (CLIA) on a tour of our facilities in May and taught him some Business 101! CLIA is devoted to giving Baltimore youth the opportunity to grow as leaders in our community. John will be honored as an “Inspiring Voice” on May 10th at CLIA’S ‪#‎InspiringVoices2016‬ event!

More About CLIA:
”In Baltimore City, where many young people struggle with poverty and its consequences, youth are often dismissed as part of the problem and rarely valued as part of the solution. CLIA believes that young people have tremendous potential when provided with the right opportunities. CLIA leads two programs for young people – CLIA’s Law & Leadership Academy at Baltimore City high schools and the statewide Just Kids Campaign. CLIA’s programs use a youth-adult partnership model in which young people and caring adult professionals work in true collaboration and achieve collective impact through learning, advocating, and inspiring change.” To learn more visit: http://cliayouth.org/

9th Annual Carroll / BP Charity Golf Tournament for JHCC

Sep. 9, 2013

Carroll Motor Fuels and the Miller Family hosted the 9th annual charity tournament on Tuesday, September 10th at Towson Golf and Country Club.  It was another sold out tournament and it came off without a hitch.  We had great warm weather and the Club had the course in great shape.  Dr. Dover, Chairman of the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, attended the awards dinner and spoke about  all of the “good” that events like these create for the folks working with the hospital. The event usually raises approximately $15k for JHCC and this year looks to be even better.  Thanks to all who were able to attend.  We look forward to seeing you next year!

High’s/Carroll/Customers raise $10k for Maryland Food Bank

Mar. 3, 2013

MD FOOD BANK

Between the end of December 2012 and the start of February 2013, High’s customers donated to the MD Food Bank over $3K  at the register.  We are happy to add that both Carroll Independent Fuel LLC and High’s of Baltimore matched the funds raised by our generous convenient store customers.  Last week we visited the fine folks at the Maryland Food Bank with both a pallet load of can goods and a monitory donation in the amount of $10,000.00.  Hunger is a year long issue for the needy of our state.  We would like to thank the hard working people at the Maryland Food Bank that do their best to feed the Hungry.  It was a pleasure to work with the Food Bank and we look forward to making this an annual campaign.
