Statement from John Phelps, President of Carroll Independent:

Dec. 23, 2016

The entire Carroll Independent family is deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and teammate Clinton L. Worrell, Jr., who passed away on December 17, 2016 as a result of a tragic accident on I-95.

We have met with and been in close contact with Clinton’s family over the past several days and will continue to help them in any way we can.

The outpouring of support for Clinton and his family from his fellow employees and people throughout the state, region and country who were touched by this terrible tragedy has been remarkable. We encourage anyone interested in offering their support to the family to make donations via the GoFundMe page that has been set up – www.gofundme.com/memory-of-gas-hauler-clintonworrell . Donations can be made directly to the family as well by contacting Carroll Independent at 888-235-8900.

Clinton was an outstanding employee during his 2.5+ years with Carroll. He will be sorely missed for his dedication to the job and his friendship.

We continue to work with MDTA authorities on their investigation into this accident and will await those results before offering further comment.

The safety of our employees, customers and the communities we serve remains Carroll Independent’s highest priority.

John H. Phelps, President
